Mentor Coaching

The ICF define Mentor Coaching for an ICF Credential as consisting of coaching and feedback in a collaborative, appreciative and dialogued process based on an observed or recorded coaching session to increase the coach’s capability in coaching, in alignment with the ICF Core Competencies.

Mentoring provides professional assistance in achieving and demonstrating the levels of coaching competency and capability demanded by the desired credential level. It should take place over an extended time (three-month minimum) in a cycle that allows for listening and feedback from the Mentor Coach while also allowing reflection and practice on the part of the individual being mentored.

I am an NLP Trainer, ICF PCC coach and Certified Mentor Coach. As such, I feel that I have a unique perspective on the process of learning and change as well as a deep knowledge of both the ICF Core Coaching Competencies and the PCC assessment markers.

As your mentor coach, my aim is to create a space and optimal learning environment where you can explore your coaching from a variety of different perspectives, evolve your coaching and demonstrate excellence, confidence, competence, and your own unique self-expression.

We will discuss where you are in your coaching journey and identify your strengths and areas for growth and evolution so that we can design our over-arching agreement and create your own development plan.

We’ll agree on how to be collegial and how I can tailor our work to your specific preferences, your own inner landscape and approach to learning and change. We’ll discuss the cadence of your sessions, and how we will manage your recordings with sufficient time for both of us to prepare effectively.

As part of our work there may be times when we are focusing with an assessor mindset, considering whether something happened in. a session or not, what was the instance and where. Other times, we may be exploring your motivation and thought processes as you reflect back on how you responded to what your client offered and the choices you made in your sessions.

The mentor coaching process with me will create opportunities for your self-reflection and continuous learning. it will cultivate your inner coach awareness, your ongoing skills refinement, and support you to broaden your ability to perceive and expand the choices available to you in your client coaching sessions.

You will also have space to reflect on how your work impacts you and your clients, and how it can embody your unique expression of the core competencies, your artfulness as a coach and your greater mission and north star.
