ChangeImbolc – The Beginning of Celtic Spring
A Time of Rebirth, Inspiration and Creativity
The first days of February mark the first days of spring in the Celtic calendar and celebrate the festival of ‘Imbolc’, which falls at the midpoint between the Winter Solstice and the Spring Equinox.
‘Imbolc’ derives from the Old Irish ‘i mbolg’ meaning ‘in the belly’ and is understood by some to refer to pregnant ewes whose lambs are soon to be born.
‘Imbolc’ is also associated with the Irish goddess ‘Brigit’, known for her wisdom, poetry, healing and protection.
The festival is a celebration of the early signs of spring and anticipates the arrival of brighter, longer, and warmer days.
It’s a time of rebirth, inspiration and creativity and a fresh opportunity to look towards the rest of the year with renewed energy, focus and determination.
Looking forward to what is yet to come for the rest of the year…,
