Use Your Edge Success Coaching was started in 2006 by Séamus Ó Muircheartaigh.  Born and educated in Ireland, Séamus has been living and working between Spain and Ireland since 1990. During that time he has spent his business career as a language, business and teacher trainer, developing and training nearly 1,200 teachers, as well as providing general and business language training to learners of a wide variety of nationalities and backgrounds. 

Séamus is a Coach U and Corporate Coach U certified graduate and a member of the ICF, The International Coach Federation. (Read the ICF Code of Ethics and the ICF Core Competencies.) He provides coaching services to individuals and businesses and is a licensed facilitator of 'The Coaching Clinic®', a two-day programme in coaching skills for managers and leaders.  Séamus is also a Licensed Master Practitioner of Neuro-Linguistic Programming, having trained with the The Irish Institute Of NLP, and he is a member of The Society Of NLP.

Seamus currently coaches people across Europe and the United States by phone as well as face to face. He also leads a variety of teleclasses, workshops and seminars.  Séamus’s sensitivity and awareness as a second language trainer, as well as his fluency in the language, allow him to successfully coach in Spanish as well as in English. Séamus is passionate about people and partnering with them. He has a genuine interest in each and every one of his clients and their individual goals. He believes we all have that 'edge' within us, the potential and resources we need for our success.

Séamus’s experience in living with another language in another culture gives him a deep insight on how to adapt to and manage change, as well as see things from a wide range of perspectives. He is an expert in communication and has a keen sense of what brings people together and what makes them diverse. With his experience in training and people management, Séamus thrives in developing and leading individuals and teams, designing strategies and inspiring people to maximize their potential and shape their own destiny. Séamus has an acute ability to get the best out of people. He partners people to the edge of their comfort zone and beyond, instilling a sense of urgency, while being supportive and understanding at the same time. Séamus is convinced that coaching provides an excellent opportunity for successful growth, enrichment and development, whether utilized in a personal or business context.

Séamus believes that every successful coach should have his or her own coach, (Tiger Woods only had his dad as a coach when he started, but how many coaches might he have now??) thereby not only talking it up, but walking the talk as well.

He has one daughter, who by simply being there makes his day, and he is a firm believer in parental equality and shared responsibility of care.

As part of his self-care time Séamus has songs from U2, The Blue Nile, The Go-Betweens, The Triffids and a host of others on his iPod. One of the items towards the top of the list of his personal ‘well-formed outcomes’ would be to get behind a drum kit again after nearly twenty years. Séamus is also an avid sports fan and a member of the great Munster Rugby Red Army, whose motto ‘To The Brave And Faithful, Nothing Is Impossible’ happens to work well in a coaching and NLP context too!! As a faithful season ticket holder, every second weekend in autumn, winter and spring Séamus visits the ‘Vicente Calderón’ in Madrid to watch Atletico de Madrid , where he happily decides to leave all self-development and behavioral management training at the turnstiles, and to be honest, considering the quality of the football at times, it’s no surprise!!
